Our Adventure -
We first heard about The Great Loop in 2001 when we met a couple in Houston that had just completed it. We both thought it sounded like a great adventure and knew that one day we wanted to do The Loop. In October of 2010, after being boat-less for almost four years, we decided to 'only look' at boats we might consider for this trip. However, in January 2011, as soon as we saw RICKSHAW we knew she was exactly what we wanted.
About Us
Jim started boating first on a 19 foot sail boat on a small lake in Mississippi. Although Belinda loved being on the water she wasn't too comfortable on the small sailboat. So in 1999 we bought a 34 foot sailboat and named her ADVENTURESS. We sailed ADVENTURESS two summers on the Tennessee River and then moved her to Houston. We sailed and raced in Galveston Bay and the Gulf of Mexico for six summers. We have bare-boat (no captain) charter sailed in Italy, Greece, BVIs, Miami, Florida Keys, San Francisco, New England and San Diego. We sold ADVENTURESS when we moved from Houston in 2007.
